Saffron flavored cookies
- Egg: 1
- Yolks: 2
- Unsalted butter: 100 g
- Sugar: 150 g
- Whole-wheat flour: 150 g
- All purpose flour: 150 g
- Teaspoon vanilla powder: 1
- Teaspoon baking powder: ½
- Cup tepid milk: ½
- Pure Saffron Threads “l'Oro di Navelli”: 0,2 g
Steep the saffron threads in ½ cup of tepid milk for at least two hours and cover with food wrapping
In a bowl, whisk 1 whole egg and 2 yolks with 150 gr sugar
Combine butter, whole-wheat flour, plain flour, vanilla powder, saffron threads and their steeping milk. Work the mixture until you get an elastic dough.
Cover and let your dough rest for 30 min.
Roll the dough out to a uniform thickness of 5-6 mm.
Cut out squares, circles, diamond, your favorite cookie shape.
Move your cookies to a greased baking tray.
Bake for 30 min at 180° C
Decorate with powdered sugar
